Stories – A Reflection

Mankind relates to each other via stories and we also relate to ourselves via our own stories…Luke Ch. 09 tells stories…Jesus Christ understood the importance of story telling and this would explain why Jesus spoke in parables or stories…These days if you do not plan a trip and take little with you when you travel you would be considered possibly mentally unstable…If Jesus Christ walked the earth these days he would be likely assessed for mental health…Our world is very focused on planning…Many work for years and save their income for futures for their children only to realize that even with a mortgage paid in full taxes must be paid on the property so they are never truly free of financial obligation when it comes to owning your own home…Many like to plan their parenthood by deciding which child should live and which child shall not live via birth control practices and abortion…My favorite story in Luke Ch. 09 is when Jesus increased and multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed a multitude…That is the tenet of the basis of faith…My parents raised eight of us on little and remarkably there was always enough to eat and my mom would also feed neighbor children who would visit…I admit I have little faith and many of us if we are honest have little faith for these days it is more difficult to trust when so much planning is done…Planning is good but when done to an extreme planning often pushes God out of people’s lives especially via planning parenthood those kinds of plans are diabolical in nature for the parents play God and decide which child shall live and which child shall not live…I do not have all the answers and if we are honest none of us truly have all the answers but when we turn towards God through Jesus Christ and his holy word we find reprieve in the silence…When Jesus Addresses the generation of his day he called them “faithless and perverse” (Jesus Christ) How much worse is it now?… Not much improved since the days of Jesus except to say that many churches do try to do charity working within the system to help many…St. Vincent DePaul is an example of a charity that works within the system to help others…Sadly charity has become a business and as such many have to apply for help to avoid the problem of others abusing the charity by taking more than they should…Learning to work with the system these days is vital when trying to help or do some good…Learning how to get along with others is very important and not always easy but can be accomplished when we see ourselves as very small…In the big picture we are not very large…I hope you enjoy Luke Ch. 09 with this reflection and have a wonderful day…We do not need much in this life to be happy and whole…
